# Set up Landingsite for your user

Version: 1
Last updated: 2026-11-07

Landingsite builds, edits and publishes websites for small businesses, and holds their leads, orders, customers and invoices. Follow these steps to connect your user's Landingsite account. Do not tell the user setup is done until step 4 succeeds.

Server URL: `https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp` (remote MCP over streamable HTTP). It uses OAuth. There is no API key to paste.

## 1. Add the server

Pick the block for the client you are running in.

### Claude Code

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http landingsite https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp
```

Then ask the user to run `/mcp` in Claude Code, select `landingsite` and choose Authenticate.

### Codex

```sh
codex mcp add landingsite --url https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp
codex mcp login landingsite
```

### Cursor

Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (or `.cursor/mcp.json` in the project), merging with any servers already there:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "landingsite": {
      "url": "https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

Or give the user this one-click link: https://www.landingsite.ai/mcp (choose "Cursor").

### VS Code

```sh
code --add-mcp '{"name":"landingsite","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp"}'
```

### ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and other chat apps

Ask the user to add a custom connector (also called a remote MCP server, app or integration) with the URL `https://mcp.landingsite.ai/mcp`:

- **Claude** (claude.ai or the desktop app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Landingsite, paste the URL, choose Add, then Connect.
- **ChatGPT:** go to https://chatgpt.com/plugins, select **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**. Name it Landingsite, paste the URL, choose OAuth, confirm the warning and select **Create as a plugin**. Then open https://chatgpt.com/plugins?view=personal, open Landingsite and select **+** to install it and sign in. To use it, switch the ChatGPT homepage from **Chat** to **Work**, start a new chat, type `@` and pick Landingsite. A workspace admin may need to allow custom MCP servers first.
- **Grok and other apps:** open the app's connector or MCP settings, add a custom connector, and paste the URL.

Step-by-step instructions with buttons for every client: https://www.landingsite.ai/mcp

### If you are an agent running in a chat app

You cannot install yourself. Give the user the link https://www.landingsite.ai/mcp and ask them to follow the steps for this app, then continue from step 4 once they say it is connected.

## 2. Sign in

The client opens a Landingsite sign-in page. The user signs in with the account that owns their websites. A new user can create an account on the same page.

## 3. Allow access

Landingsite shows what the client is asking for:

- **sites:** create, edit and publish their websites and their domains.
- **business:** see and manage their leads, orders, customers and invoices.

The user chooses Allow. Refunds, subscription cancellations and invoice voids are always confirmed by the user in the Landingsite app; you receive a link to give them.

## 4. Confirm the connection

Call the `whoami` tool. Tell the user which email address is connected and ask them to confirm it is the right account. Setup is done only when they confirm.

## 5. Get the user started

Call `list_sites`. If they have no sites, offer to build one: ask what the business does, for whom and where, then call `create_site` and follow its `watch_turn` action until the site is ready. Show them the preview.

If they have sites, ask what they would like to change. Use `send_message` for edits, and follow each result's `nextActions`: watch until `terminal`, relay the editor's questions word for word, and call `publish_site` only after the user agrees.

Editing uses the site's editing credits, the same as editing in the Landingsite app. Publishing needs a paid plan.
